The Globe said on their cover back in July Dick Clark would not live to see Labor Day, but the day has come and gone and Mr. Clark is still with us. He was diagnosed as diabetic in 2003 and had a stroke in 2004, so he doesn't look well, but medical science today is very good at keeping people alive. This year, the tabloids have predicted the imminent death of 53 people. As of Sept. 7, three are dead (Gary Coleman, Dennis Hopper, Rue McClanahan) and fifty are still alive.
Best wishes to Mr. Clark.
