The low rent Examiner has no stories directly about Hey Old Timer Gossip this week, which means no one whose claim to fame starts before Matty Boy graduated high school in the early 1970s. Instead, they write stories of interest to their demographic by making most of them about daytime TV stars. According to them, Drew Carey has been dumped. Whether this means he is losing his job on The Price Is Right or his sweetheart has given him the boot, I do not know, since as you know, I just read the covers of the tabloids, I don't open them up.

The Examiner has a picture of Drew Carey on the cover looking much thinner than usual, but not particularly healthy. I can't find any similar picture anywhere else, and Photoshop is always an option with these grease weasels.

They say he has lost 40 lbs. in two weeks, which is impossible without surgery or a life threatening disease. When I see a story in the Examiner that I can't find anywhere else, I assume they are just making stuff up.


Here is a recent picture of Carey speaking at a city council meeting in Cleveland. He looks thinner, but I can't say how much thinner or how quickly he lost the weight.

Completely vague title alert:Price Is Right baby scandal

If you are like me and don't watch daytime TV, you may not be aware that Drew Carey has taken over the job of host on The Price Is Right from Bob Barker. Carey's politics lean toward the right-wing libertarian side and he gripes from time to time about how hard it is for people with his politics to find work in Hollywood.

Earth to Drew: You have a job. You are always working. STFU!

In any case, The Globe has a headline stating "Price Is Right baby shocker!" with Drew's picture next to it. As a libertarian, Carey should know that you can't set a price on a baby. For a commodity that valuable, you have to let the market forces decide.
