Meanest Story nominee: Queen Latifah declares war on Dolly Parton.

According to the low rent Examiner, there is tension on the set of the movie Joyful Noise, which will star Queen Latifah and Miss Dolly Parton. Whether there is a lick of truth to this story or not, it does constitute a tabloid saying bad things about Miss Dolly Parton, even if only indirectly, so it gets a Meanest Story nomination this week.

According to the Flagship, Queen Latifah is having a baby. Checking out stuff online for confirmation, this story is likely premature. According to the website TotalBeauty.com, Latifah and her partner Jeanette Jenkins are thinking about the possibility, but it hasn't gone any farther than that.

The Flagship has one of those cover stories with a bunch of pictures of celebrities, in this case all female, where the magazine rags on their flaws. Almost everyone is too skinny or too fat, but one woman is considered nearly perfect. There are a couple of "guess who?" pictures, but I hate those so I didn't open the rag to find out and I make it a point not to do so in these circumstances. Here the people who had names attached to their pictures.

Way too skinny: Nicole Kidman, Lindsay Lohan
Scary muscles: Madonna
Way too fat: Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey
Just about perfect: Beyoncé Knowles
