Beloved stars abused!

Last month, the Globe went with a story that Mickey Rooney is the victim of elder abuse. This month, the low rent Examiner hops on the bandwagon and says, Mickey is not alone, that Ernest Borgnine and Katherine Ross are also being abused.

Meanest Story nominee: Ernest Borgnine's daughter attempts suicide and blames him.

Let me start with the answers to the Ernest Borgnine FAQ.

Yes, he's still alive.
Yes, he's still fat.
Yes, he's still working. He was in the movie Red with Bruce Willis last year.

The Globe thinks its target demographic is dying to find out dirt about a guy who was in an Oscar winning movie released the year I was born, and I'm old! According to the headline, Borgnine's daughter attempted suicide and blamed her dad for her troubles. I'm sure there must be more to the story, but I don't open the gossip rags except under the most dire circumstances, and this is not dire in my book.

It does get a nomination for Meanest Story of the Week, however.
