Meanest Story nominee:Zsa Zsa's Brave Last Goodbye.

Publication: Globe
Date: 21 February 2011

Not every death prediction rises to a Meanest Story nomination, but there are two this week that make it sound like the people mentioned will be dead before the ink dries on the tabloid reporting the story. The Globe tells us that this is Zsa Zsa Gabor's Brave Last Goodbye.

The story is based on actual news in the legitimate press. Zsa Zsa has returned to the hospital after her leg amputation showed signs of infection and she has been unresponsive, but the news also looked bad when she was first hospitalized way back in August.

What we have seen is this old bird is tougher than a two dollar steak.

This gets a nomination for Meanest Story of the Week.

Date: 29 November 2010

Just in case you've forgotten, Zsa Zsa Gabor is still very old and in bad health. The editors at the Globe thought you would like to know that.

Of course, if you remember Zsa Zsa Gabor, you aren't exactly a spring chicken yourself, are you?

Brave Last Days Alert:Zsa Zsa Gabor

Publication: Globe
Date: 30 August 2010

Two weeks ago, the Globe had a headline claiming foul play was involved in Zsa Zsa Gabor's recent serious turn in her health. This week, they give her a Sad Last Days headline. In legitimate news sources, stories have been reported of complications after her recent operations and that she received the sacrament known commonly as last rites and she left the hospital to go home instead of risking more operations. Today's news from TMZ online is that her husband has collapsed and both are now bedridden.

The only other person marked for death by one of the Three Wicked Step Sisters this year that got this level of confirmation of the seriousness of the situation in other more reputable news services was Dennis Hopper, who let the world know how sick he was in late 2009 and died in May 2010.

Meanest Story nominee and Not Long 4 This World Alert:Zsa Zsa Gabor murder drama

Publication: Globe
Date: 16 August 2010

The Globe gets all the facts straight in a story, then jumps to a far fetched conclusion. Zsa Zsa Gabor, once a famous international beauty, was found unconscious lying in a pool of blood after she fell trying to get into her wheelchair about two weeks ago. She was rushed to the hospital, where she still remains, though her situation has improved and doctors expect her to go home soon, though she is in a lot of pain with a broken hip.

The Globe believes all these facts point to... MURDER!

Okay. A pool of blood sounds dramatic and suspicious, but a head injury, whether accidental or intentional, can bleed a lot. Also, if this was a murder attempt, I'd like to point out that Ms. Gabor is now 93 years old. If you attempt to kill a 93 year old and fail, there are two possible and not mutually exclusive explanations.
  1. The 93 year old in question is tougher than a two dollar steak, or
  2. You kinda suck at murder.
For jumping to a sordid conclusion, the Globe gets one of their two Meanest Story nominations for this week.
