There is only one positive story on the cover of all The Three Wicked Stepsister tabloids this week, and I'm glad it's this one. The National Examiner says John Goodman lost 200 pounds. He appeared on David Letterman a few weeks back and he admitted to being over 400 at one time and he's now near 250. Not exactly 200 pounds, but significant weight loss, especially for a guy in his late fifties. He gives a lot of credit to giving up drinking.
I love John Goodman's work, especially his roles in the Coen Brothers movies. I applaud the hard work and dedication he showed to lose the weight and hope he's around to do more good work on stage and screen for many decades to come.
