At the end of May, Star magazine had a cover story about the upcoming wedding of Wills&Kate having a $40 million price tag. At around the same time, other tabloids said the divorce of Larry and Shawn King was worth at least $150 million. Now that the Brits have seen what the big leagues look like, somebody pulled a new number out of their bum and estimated the wedding price at $20 BILLION.

This is as bad as the early estimates of the BP oil spill, when they were off by a factor of 300.
I know the Brits are supposed to love the royals and their very existence is a pick me up in every loyal subject's drab and humdrum life, but they could call off this wedding and give every Brit £200 in cash instead and save about a BILLION quid.
That would be a nice pick me up, too.
